NEW ALBANY, OHIO – The Ohio Poultry Association (OPA) and the Ohio Pork Council (OPC) are pleased to announce the launch of Best Buckeye Breakfasts – a collaborative, statewide restaurant support campaign that encourages consumers to try farmer-favorite breakfast menu items and share their personal favorites on social media. Although Ohio’s agriculture industry was directly impacted by the wake of COVID-19, many local restaurants are still facing the devastating impact of the pandemic. Best Buckeye Breakfasts encourages individuals to support local restaurants and those they employ by dining in, carrying out, or sharing their favorite breakfast spots on social media.
Best Buckeye Breakfasts will launch on June 3 in celebration of National Egg Day and will run through August 15 as families are traveling and looking for fun, family-friendly summer activities. Through the Best Buckeye Breakfasts campaign, each week, OPA and OPC will promote a different breakfast menu item featuring egg and pork products from restaurants recommended by farmer members.
To highlight restaurants around the state of Ohio, Best Buckeye Breakfast dishes and restaurants will be broken into five regions – Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, Southwest and Central.
Each week during the campaign, Ohio poultry and pig farmers will award select social media users that share their favorite breakfast dish and restaurant with a gift card, providing $5,000 in direct support to Ohio restaurants. To further support Ohio restaurants, OPA and OPC will provide direct monetary grants to restaurants across the state nominated by the general public through BestBuckeyeBreakfasts.com. Throughout the campaign, farmer representatives from OPA and OPC will award winning restaurants up to $2,500 each.
The Ohio Poultry Association and the Ohio Pork Council look forward to promoting popular breakfast dishes centered around eggs and bacon while providing direct restaurant support. To get involved, visit BestBuckeyeBreakfasts.com, share your favorite breakfast spots on social media, and watch for more information from OPA and OPC on Facebook and Instagram.
